MEETING SERVICES


 

Overview

 

DeKalb Convention & Visitors Bureau (DCVB) is devoted to servicing the individual needs of meeting planners. Staff members are trained, experienced and certified in all areas of meeting planning and knowledgeable about the metropolitan Atlanta area.

 

Services

 

The following are services provided FREE OF CHARGE by the DCVB. In addition, the DCVB can customize meeting planning services according to the client's needs.

 

Site Selection Assistance:

 

- Check hotel availability
- Distribute meeting requirements to selected hotels
- Collect proposals from the properties
- Conduct personal site inspections

 

Program Assistance:

 

- Serve as a centralized source for services information
â Provide a list of speakers
- Offer suggestions for planning entertainment, tours, shopping, companion/children's programs


 

Registration Assistance and Staffing:

 

- Provide DeKalb Ambassadors (professional, friendly and uniformed volunteers) to assist with registration, assembling delegate materials, staffing hospitality area, collecting tickets, etc.
- Print and assemble delegate badges
- Provide plastic tote bags for registration materials


 

Visitor Information:

 

- Prepare area information booth on site at a meeting or event to supply delegates with brochures on area attractions
- Furnish travel and vacation planners that include information on area dining, shopping and attractions


 

Public Relations:

 

- Arrange press kits on the Atlanta/DeKalb area
- Supply color slides of Atlanta/DeKalb area for use in promoting the meeting
- Provide targeted local media lists for distribution of press materials
 

Special Disability Assistance:

 

The DCVB will assist in assuring that meeting attendees with disabilities have accessibility and the necessary equipment and services to meet their needs.

 

Post-Meeting Assistance:

 

The DCVB wants to ensure that the needs and expectations of the meeting planner and attendees were met while in DeKalb County. The DCVB will provide a post-meeting survey to gather this important information.
